Carolina Souza Berger is an attorney at Jackson LLP.

Carolina grew up in a family of healthcare professionals and spent her summer breaks working for her dad’s small pediatric practice. Carolina understands the unique challenges independent healthcare practices face and now uses her experience, skills, and education to solve complex legal issues.

Carolina graduated from Tufts University with a double major in Community Health and International Relations, with a focus in global health. During her time at Tufts, she interned in the Elder, Health and Disability unit at Greater Boston Legal Services and decided to pursue a career in the law. After graduating, she worked as a legal fellow in the Employment Unit at Greater Boston Legal Services before going to law school at the University of Chicago.

After graduating from law school, Carolina worked at an international law firm, where she regularly counseled clients in the healthcare and life sciences sectors.  In this role, she successfully represented corporate clients in connection with criminal and civil enforcement actions initiated by DEA and SEC. Carolina especially valued the opportunity to advise clients on proper regulatory compliance to help limit their future liability.

Outside of work, Carolina enjoys cooking, watching reality television, and playing volleyball. On the weekends, you can regularly find her and her husband, Matt, on a hiking or biking trail somewhere.
