Emily Boyd is a legal content contributor at Jackson LLP.

Emily works with the firm’s attorneys and staff on diverse projects for healthcare clients. As a contributor to the firm’s blog, Emily also enjoys the opportunity to take a deeper dive into specific topics within the healthcare regulatory sphere.

She is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law, possessing a J.D. with certificates in both Health Law and Regulatory Compliance. While in law school, Emily served on the Health Law Society’s executive board. Starting early in her law school career, she became involved with the Beazley Institute for Health Law and Policy. 

Emily served as an executive editor for the Annals of Health Law, mentoring and helping to publish student-authored articles in the Annals sub-publication: Advance Directive.  She also served as a Senior Editor and frequent blog contributor for the school’s Journal of Regulatory Compliance. 

Emily worked during law school to diversify her resume with various experiential opportunities, including positions at the American Medical Association, the Corporate Compliance Department at Presence Health, and a summer associate position with the Cleveland Clinic.

Emily grew up in suburban Southern California, where she spent her childhood and adolescence in a pre-professional training program for classical ballet. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands, majoring in Business and Psychology, and later relocated to Chicago to attend law school.

Emily now lives in the  Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, where she spoils her cat, Olive. Emily’s hobbies include taking adult ballet classes, baking, and watching documentary films.
