Erin Malter is an attorney at Jackson LLP.
Licensed in Illinois
After growing up in a family full of healthcare professionals, Erin is excited to tackle complex healthcare law questions at Jackson LLP.
Erin studied political science and sociology at Indiana University–Bloomington and received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois College of Law. At Illinois, she was a senior editor on The Elder Law Journal, the country’s oldest scholarly publication dedicated to elder law issues, and published research on the legal relationship between Medicare-funded senior housing and medical marijuana treatment programs.
While in law school, Erin held internships with the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) and Carle Foundation hospital system. At the CHA, she had the opportunity to create materials that educated Chicago’s low-income housing providers on complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
At Carle, her research focused on HIPAA reporting policies, the implementation of federal price transparency regulations, corporate compliance program guidance, and hospital liabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Outside of work, Erin enjoys crafting, cooking, and spending time with her cat, Tootsie. She lives in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.
