Yujin Kim is a healthcare attorney who works with independent practices on the legal issues that arise when starting and operating a practice. Her clients include solo practitioners and small private practice owners, such as physicians, therapists and other mental health professionals, nurse practitioners, and med spa owners. Her work includes practice formation and startup, HIPAA policies and compliance, and informed consent and intake forms, including the legal and compliance considerations that shape a practice’s day-to-day operations.
Background and Experience
Yujin developed her interest in healthcare law after initially pursuing a pre-medicine track at Saint Louis University. She became interested in the ethical and logistical issues surrounding healthcare and ultimately shifted her focus to law, earning her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law.
Before joining Jackson LLP, Yujin worked in the Office of Risk and Claims Management at Rush University System for Health in Chicago, where she conducted legal research and document review. During law school, she was also active in the Health and Elder Law Society, which gave her experience with legal issues affecting healthcare organizations and the people they serve.
Today, Yujin brings that background to her work with healthcare practices, combining legal analysis with an understanding of the practical issues that arise when a practice is being built or its compliance documents need to hold up in daily use.
Outside of work, Yujin enjoys going on walks and watching television shows and movies with friends and family.
