Edwin Caro works with healthcare professionals and independent practices on the legal issues involved in starting and operating a practice. He assists clients with PLLC and professional entity formation, practice formation and startup, contracts, and healthcare compliance. His clients include a wide range of solo practitioners and small private practices: physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, other mental health professionals, and medical spa owners. Edwin also advises clients on MSO and management services agreements, including the legal structure of relationships between management companies and healthcare practices, as well as concierge medicine arrangements.
Background and Experience
Edwin brings experience from both state and federal government agencies to his work at Jackson LLP. During law school, he interned with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), where he reviewed managed care contracts and rate certifications for compliance with federal regulations. He also worked as a law clerk for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), researching state law and matters involving the restoration of professional licenses.
At Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Edwin served as publications editor for the Annals of Health Law and Life Sciences, Loyola’s health policy and law review. He also published an article examining the potential health benefits and cost savings associated with changes to government treatment of homeless populations.
Outside of work, Edwin enjoys watching football, playing board games, and spending time with family and friends.
