Our mental health provider clients frequently ask questions about providing documentation for their patients’ emotional support animals.  They often believe in their patients’ genuine reliance upon an emotional support animal (or an “ESA”), but they don’t know the parameters of the required documentation, whether any liability concerns are implicated, or what information they’re allowed to disclose to third parties.
